How much does Enterprise Tester cost?

Can I request a quote or invoice in a currency other than US Dollars?

Catch can issue quotes and invoices in New Zealand dollars, Australian dollars and US dollars. Unfortunately, issuing quotes or invoices in other currencies is not possible. New Zealand dollar and Australian dollar quotes and invoices are calculated using an exchange rate that includes a currency fluctuation margin.

Are there any discounts if I purchase multiple software licenses at the same time?

Enterprise Tester starts at just $10 for a starter license. Given the great pricing we do not offer any discounts on our products. You can, however, qualify for discounts if you bundle Enterprise Tester with Atlassian and/or Sparx Systems licenses, training or mentoring.

Are there any discounts for government organizations?

Discounts are not offered to government organizations (unless you are a provider of primary, secondary or tertiary education - in which case you would qualify for academic pricing). Government organizations purchasing Enterprise Tester are required to purchase commercial licenses.

Are there any discounts for academic institutions?

Academic pricing is available to qualified academic institutions for both Enterprise Tester and Duette.

Does Catch offer reseller discounts?

Are there any applicable taxes?

Catch is a New Zealand-based company and as such must collect GST from all New Zealand-based customers. Catch is also required to charge GST to Australia-based companies

Which payment methods are accepted, and what are your payment terms?

Catch accepts the following payment methods:

  • Credit Card (including MasterCard, Visa or American Express) via our secure online order forms - fastest payment method (1 to 3 business days)
  • Direct Bank Transfer - can take up to 5 business days for banks transfers to clear through our banking facilities.
  • Mailed check - can take up to 2 weeks

This means that the license key will only be issued after your payment is received. After I purchase a license, do I need to reinstall the software?

No, you just need to replace the license key in Enterprise Tester. Simple as that!

How is the software distributed? Will I receive a CD-ROM or shrink-wrapped product?

Catch software is available only via HTTP download. Catch does not distribute any software on CD, DVD or as a shrink wrapped product. As all commercial and academic licenses include 12 months of software maintenance (support and product updates), this model is the best way to stay up to date with the numerous software releases made available to you.

After an order has been placed, how and when can the license key be accessed?

Access to your license key(s) is provided only after the successful receipt and processing of your payment. Once payment is received, a confirmation email will be sent including instructions on accessing the license key.

Can I evaluate a product for free, before purchasing it?

Yes, you can evaluate Enterprise Tester for at least 30 days before purchase, allowing you to see and use the product before you proceed with a purchase. Catch provides a fully functional version of Enterprise Tester for evaluation, so what you'll be using during your evaluation is what you'll be getting when you buy. Can I get a refund, exchange or upgrade after purchasing a product?

Yes, you can request a refund or you can exchange/upgrade your commercial or academic product, up to 30 days after the date of purchase. After the 30-day period, standard pricing for upgrades will apply and exchanges/refunds will not be available.
However, due to the charitable nature of monies collected from Starter Licenses, we are unable to offer refunds or exchanges for Starter License purchases.

  • Enterprise Tester 5 Users license holders can purchase upgrades to 15 Users, 30 Users or 30+ (Unlimited) Users at any time.
  • Enterprise Tester 15 Users license holders can purchase upgrades to 30 Users or 30+ (Unlimited) Users at any time.
  • Enterprise Tester 30 Users license holders can purchase upgrades to 30+ (Unlimited) Users at any time.

Upgrading between different editions of Enterprise Tester is simple! All you have to do is to copy the new license key into the 'License Details' page in the product's administration console.

Software Maintenance (support and product updates)

What is software maintenance?

Software maintenance covers access to any relevant support and software updates for your software license. All commercial and academic licenses include 12 months of free maintenance (commencing from the date of purchase).

When does my software maintenance start?

Regardless of when your software maintenance is purchased, it commences the day after your existing maintenance period ends.

Can I purchase more than 12 months of software maintenance in advance?

You can hold a maximum of 3 years worth of active software maintenance for your Enterprise Tester license.

What happens after the first 12 months? Can I use the software without active software maintenance?

After the first 12 months, your software maintenance will expire and you will no longer be able to access support or software updates. Renewing your software maintenance is done purely at your discretion and can be renewed in advance of your maintenance expiration to ensure uninterrupted access to the support and software updates.

Yes, you can continue to use your software after the active maintenance period expires. As all commercial and academic licenses are perpetual; you can use your software into perpetuity. Do keep in mind that software maintenance renewals commence from the expiration of the last active software maintenance period.

Why should I renew my software maintenance?

Renewing your software maintenance allows you to both continue receiving online support from the team at Catch and to benefit from the 6-8 weekly releases of Enterprise Tester.

Can I synchronize the maintenance renewal dates on my licenses?

If you have purchased multiple Catch, Atlassian or Sparx Systems products on different dates, your maintenance renewal dates can be synchronized to the same date based on the time-value of individual licenses. Licensing

How are users counted in Enterprise Tester? Named or Concurrent Users?

A user is by definition any account with the permission to log into the application. A named user with this permission is counted towards the user limit, whether logged in to the application or not. A concurrent user refers to the number of these named user that can log into Enterprise Tester at any given time.

How is Duette licensed?

The Duette license is tied to the Enterprise Tester license; as such the user count of the Duette license must match that of the Enterprise Tester license.

What are the conditions for an Academic License?

The following organizations are eligible for an Academic License:

  • Educational institutions: Public or private K-12, vocational schools, correspondence schools, junior colleges, colleges, universities, or scientific or technical schools that are accredited by a national accrediting agency.
  • Administrative offices & boards of education: Provincial, district, regional, national and state administrative offices and authorities of the Educational Institutions defined above.
  • Public libraries
  • Home-school programs
  • Research institutes that are affiliated with an accredited university.
  • Teaching hospitals that are affiliated with an accredited university.
  • Training and teaching organizations that are accredited by a statutory government qualifications body.

Proof of accreditation or affiliation may be required when ordering an Academic License.

What are the conditions for a Not-for-Profit License? How can I apply?

The following organizations are eligible for a Not-for-Profit License:

  • non for profit,
  • non-government,
  • non-academic,
  • non-commercial,
  • non-political and have no religious affiliation in nature, that would not otherwise be able to afford our software.

If your organization is philanthropic in nature then you probably qualify. Proof of accreditation or affiliation may be required when ordering a Not-for-Profit License.

Would additional licenses be required if multiple instances of the software were to be installed on a single server?

Yes, additional licenses would be required. Each license permits only the deployment of a single instance of the software in a commercial environment.

Would additional licenses be needed if the software is deployed on a development server or staging server for testing purposes?

Developer licenses can be used by existing commercial and academic license holders who wish to deploy non-production installations of Enterprise Tester to assist with development and testing efforts. Developer licenses can also be used for non-production installations of our software deployed on a cold stand-by server. This license is provided free of charge and the maintenance expiration of this license will be synchronized to the maintenance expiration date of your product.

How do I generate a new evaluation license key?

Can I combine multiple licenses to increase the number of licensed users I have for a single instance?

Enterprise Tester licenses cannot be combined to increase the number of users for a single instance; to increase the number of users an upgrade to the license level is necessary.

End User License Agreement

Our legal department would like to make some changes to your End User License Agreement (EULA). Is that ok?

Unfortunately, with our current price structure, we're unable to make any changes to our EULA. If you consider our pricing model and the costs of creating and managing individual agreements with each of our customers, you can begin to understand our position. Maintaining a standard EULA with all of our customers allows us to focus our resources on meeting our obligations under these agreements. Do keep in mind of course that our EULAs have been very carefully authored to be fair to both you and us.

Your EULA refers to the grant of publicity rights to Catch. What does that mean? Can we change that?

Catch lists a small number of our customers on our website as examples of organizations using our software. All other disclosures about our customers (customer testimonials, case studies, etc.) are done so only after collaborating with and obtaining permission from our customers. If you don't want us to mention your company name at all, just let us know and we'll add you to our list of companies requesting to not be party to any disclosures or forms of publicity (including our customer lists on our website).

The EULA is governed by the laws of New Zealand. Can we remove this or change this?

We can understand the desire to engage in any litigation in a local and familiar legal system. No doubt, for many of the same reasons, we feel the same way too. Although we can't change this clause, we can say that the New Zealand legal system is a world class legal system and will offer protection and justice should the situation arise. That said we have never entered into any litigation with any of our customers.
